Rework Wednesday's
Where I take preloved clothing/bedding etc. and give it a new lease of life.
The below was a 5 week series during the month of March '23.
More Rework Wednesdays coming soon...
Week 1
3 piece set
This week's rework was made using 2 pairs of cotton drill pants and some of a check print jacket.
As usual, all patterns, cutting and sewing were done by me. I had a lot of fun creating the first week's rework wednesday, I was going through a slight creative slump at the time and my hope was that rework wednesday's would help get me out of it.
Week 2
Denim on Denim on Denim
This was definitely my most challenging week. I set myself a mountain of a task trying to complete this outfit under time pressure. There were several broken sewing needles, thanks to the pleated denim skirt. Speaking of the skirt, it is by far my favourite piece from this series, it was tough to get through my sewing machine but the heartbreak was worth it.
The bandeau style top was created using waistbands from denim jeans and layering them in a gradient.
Week 3
The Wednesday Dress
Inspired by miss Wednesday Adaams herself, this velvet and lace number was created using a preloved velvet dress which had no shape in her whatsoever so this is a huge change from where she started.
I then completed the look by making some fingerless gloves and a matching choker to add to the gothic look.
Week 4
Funky festival
This is probably my least favourite outfit in this series. I feel it was rushed and possibly I was feeling slightly drained creatively and mentally by this week lol. However, I do still think this is a cool look and in the middle of March was giving me serious festival vibes and getting me excited for Summer.
This outfit was made using various preloved shirts.
Week 5
Floral Fantasy
This transformation was exactly what this series was all about, taking pieces that are dated and giving them a new lease of life.
This dress and bag was created using a long shapeless dress which I had been kindly donated. I then created a dress and bag that was fresher and more contemporary. In turn, this is what inspired my most recent collection which is now available to shop.
